Osaka is a large city with many express railways. Due to the lack of space in the geographical region, many things like ports and airports had to on artificial islands. Kansai International Airport is an airport located in Osaka that sits on top of a man-made island. Man-made islands are built for many reasons around the world. They can serve as protection, luxury, and transportation. The industrial centers in Osaka like the Hanshin Industrial Zone are a very large section of Kansai and are the second largest industrial zone in Japan. Some rivers that run through or around Osaka include the Yoro River, Yamato River, and many other rivers. All these rivers run into their uplands. Much of Osaka’s coastline has been made into places like ports for ships and other vehicles. Because of Osaka’s geography, many large industries have formed along the coastlines. Osaka has a very diverse variety of mountains, rivers, and other geographical features. Osaka is known as the nation kitchen v and is well known for delicious foods such as takoyaki and okonomiyaki.
